Why I created a Wellbeing Van

 

January 8th, 2025, I was in the lobby of a hospital in Wisconsin because my mom was having heart surgery — and on the TV, I was watching Los Angeles burning down. Absolutely tragic — and at the same time, I’m worried about my mom. I thought, the landscape is forever changed, people lost their homes, and this isn’t the only hard thing people have going on. We deal with personal tragedies and traumas all the time — we just don’t talk about them, but we carry them.

So I decided, I’m going to build a VAN to help people. The news will forget us, but I won’t. Life can be hard, but those hard things can also turn into beauty, healing, and transformation. I didn’t know how to build vans — but I figured it out.

I’m Monica Bloom, an Ayurveda author and teacher since 2008. Ayurveda is the science of life — of longevity. It’s mind-body-spirit healing and sees us as unique individuals. It uses the elements from nature AND the 5 senses to heal. The 5 senses are how we receive information from the world, and that shapes our mind, body, and emotions — so we also use the 5 senses as tools for healing.

Here’s what to expect: You’ll go through an experience in the van to help you move through hard things and leave feeling less stressed, lighter, and uplifted. You can download the practices and do them at home — daily is best, or whenever you need it. It’s a 5-sensory experience, designed to quickly reduce stress, anxiety, and any negative emotions.

Before you come in, here’s a mindset shift: Most of us live in black-and-white thinking — good or bad, right or wrong. And what’s in between? The GRAY area… who wants to be in the gray area? Nobody. I was in the gray area all the time, so I started calling it rainbow space — where all possibilities exist. We don’t have to choose black, white, or hell-no gray — we get infinite options. It means being open to the great things ahead. So come in with a Rainbow Mindset.

And one quick piece of homework: Think of one thing that’s your biggest stressor — emotional or mental — and rate it 1 to 10. Ten is panic attack, one is nothing. Keep that in mind when you enter. I’ll show you how to shift it.
